Dr Joy Yip

DIRECTOR & LEAD DESIGN

B Sc (Med) MBBS (UNSW) MPH (Syd) A Mus A

Given her love of travel and seeing the world, the best part of Joy's business is that she can do her work whenever and wherever she has an internet connection.

She completed her medical degree from the University of New South Wales in 2004 and also holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Sydney. She obtained a performance degree in pianoforte from the Australian Music Examinations Board in 1996. Her medical electives were spent in Edinburgh, Scotland and British Columbia, Canada.

She has been designing her own websites since she was a teenager in high school and had her first website up in the 1990’s. She has previously been involved as a beta tester for Elixir Graphics, a Florida-based web developer and graphic design company.

Since graduation, she has worked in both the public and private health care systems in NSW and Queensland. Joy was accepted into the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists for specialist training in 2008 and has worked previously in drug and alcohol rehabilitation and management of eating disorders.

After becoming a mother to two happy and healthy children, she gradually reduced her clinical workload and eventually, stopped seeing patients face to face completely. The upside of this is that her work can now help multiple patients at any time of the day rather than being limited to one patient at a time.

Dr Yip started WebInjection in 2010 because at the time, let's face it, most of the websites out there looked pretty terrible and she figured she could do it better.

She wants your website to be a genuine reflection of you, not a generic template or souless AI slop. In corporate speak: she understands a website's role in establishing a positive doctor-patient relationship and facilitating peer-to-peer communication for multi-disciplinary care.

She now works full time as a web designer, managing over a hundred and fifty clients nationwide. She's been doing this for long enough that new projects are only taken on board if they're a recommendation from an existing client or she thinks it would be a good fit.
